A Good Plan

I broke my moratorium on shopping this morning. Bought these unopened flowers – are they buds? – at the farmers’ market where it seemed all of Brentwood became pedestrians in the sunshine.

I needed to have these. Here’s the plan: they’re going to open and thrive sometime this week, right on schedule, right when I’m going to need some new life. And by the time they begin to wither, I’ll be on a plane to a place where hugs from my parents await. Insha’Allah.
